Recovering in hospital Folake gives Jacob distressing news which forces him to take stock of his life. Torn between his personal dreams and the wishes of the Abayomi's, he escapes to Paris, into the arms of Trinity.

After her inauguration as chief of the Abayomis, Folake set her sights on winning a lucrative concession, but a crisis occurs when her authority as a woman is ignored. Meanwhile Andile finally manages to win the mysterious Lou Lou's trust, but a crisis occurs when the hotel manageress discovers her hiding out in Andile's room.

Frustrated by Lou Lou's unwillingness to communicate, Andile starts making plans to smuggle Lou Lou across the border on his daughter's passport. Floored by the loss of the mineral rights, Jacob and Prospero set out to find out more about the mysterious Pan African Mineral Holdings, only to discover that Paul Lebone is behind the move.

Prospero threatens to expose Paul, Justice and Rau Rau when it's discovered that PAMH's mineral rights were obtained fraudulently. Imprisoned at Mr Soludo's home, Bola meets a strange and beautiful woman and is instructed to launch an attack on the Abayomi family.

With Bola behind the events leading to the murders of uncle Brian and Folake's bodyguard, with Soludo's assurance that Folake is next once the concession has been returned...

Prospero's rivalry with Paul Lebone leads to a fist fight, while his relationship with Dr Jones unravels when she discovers him in the arms of another. Meanwhile Soludo begins his bloody revenge on the Abayomi family.

Bola infiltrates the Abayomi mansion with Jacob within his grasp. But a brilliant tactical move from Folake secures their safety and Chief Soludo calls off the attack at the last moment. Jacob returns to Johannesburg to discover Rau Rau has tightened his illegal grasp on their mining rights.

Adana pleads to her father to spare Bola's life, Soludo is trapped, will he lose his daughters love? ? Meanwhile Jacob risks all to uphold his principles and take a moral stand against Rau Rau's corruption. If Jacob looses, the price is everything he and Prospero have worked for.

Haunted by premonitions of his own death, Andile sets up a meeting to hand over the diamond to Silencio's men in exchange for Lou Lou, but Silencio is a sly fox. Meanwhile, Jacob calls off his dinner with Trinity and in a chance encounter, she finds herself in another man's arms.

Andile heads to Angola for a final show-down with Silencio, while Jacob tries to save his relationship with Trinity. In Nigeria, Bola sets out to prove himself to Chief Soludo, if he succeeds he may access more money and power than he can dream of.

Rau Rau rouses a rebellion of workers at Jacob and Prospero's mines and despite all Jacob's efforts a major strike gets underway. In Nigeria, Adana betrays her father and gives Bola the opportunity to close in on his off-shore fortune. Andile and Busi fight to get Lou Lou released to the safety of their home.

The noose tightens for Jacob and Prospero as the consequences of the strike hit at the very heart of their mine. Shy smells a rat when he cannot get access to his father, but Adana outsmarts him when she discovers someone has been stealing from Soludo.

Jacob discovers Prospero's betrayal with Trinity in the middle of the battle to keep Legacy alive, will their friendship survive? Folake starts to develop feelings for Shy, but she discovers there is another woman and a child on its way.
