Germany, Münsterberg 1924. The cannibal known as Karl Denke is getting arrested. After at least 31 murders, his final attempt on Vincent Oliver turns out to be his downfall. In his cell, he begins to imagine his upcoming interrogation, to which flashbacks tell of Denke's actions. The movie reconstructs the mind of its protagonist, his motivation and psyche in an unconventional narrative.
