While vacationing on an Aegean island, the Charitos family is caught up in an earthquake that unearths a corpse. Commissioner Kostas returns to Athens to investigate, but an eager journalist races ahead of the police to try to solve the case.

Kostas battles worsening back pain and rising tensions at the police station when a wealthy nightclub owner is murdered. Feeling overwhelmed, Kostas gets a new agent, Nikos, who immediately clashes with Deputy Commissioner Petros.
