Kylee Makes It

Kylee is getting excited for fall and so is the Maker Box! Kylee finds a pumpkin and a hint to find some more inside! Follow the clues to find pumpkins and then bring them back to the studio with Kylee! Learn about lines and then decorate the pumpkins with different facial expressions using puff paint!

Kylee is so grateful for all the drivers who help deliver things to her home, she creates a huge thank you sign on her front window with a paper mosaic! She then makes Thank You cards with a printmaking process using a styrofoam plate and sends the cards to some friends!

Kylee visits an aquarium with her family! They see so many amazing creatures that Kylee is inspired to create some of her own in the studio! Kylee uses watercolors to teach you to draw and create different underwater creatures and their habitat.

Kylee and Dax find some delicious cookies in the Maker Box and try them. They are so delicious, they remind Kylee of the gingerbread houses she used to make as a kid. Kylee decides to make her own with salt dough, and then creates non-edible candy out of polymer clay to decorate it with!

Kylee visits her friend Jeremy in his clay studio! Jeremy shows her how he creates clay vessels on his pottery wheel. Then they both work together to hand-build some clay turtles!

Kylee goes on an egg hunt and finds some amazing crafts to complete! Inspired, Kylee makes DIY clay eggs and puts surprises inside of them. Once they are dry, she paints them using complementary colors and designs. Dax and his friends come over and go on a surprise egg hunt to find them and then crack them open!

Kylee visits her friend Ben at his bike shop. He teaches her all about bikes, their parts, and how to ride bikes safely. He then shows Kylee all the spare bike parts he has and sends her home with some. After she's back in the studio, Kylee puts together a sculpture out of the parts and challenges you to a mystery art bag challenge!

Kylee learns about an awesome style of drawing called Optical Art (Op Art for short!). After she learns about some Op Art artists, she tries it herself! Learn two different ways you can create your very own Op Art drawings using line, pattern, value, and color!
