The movie revolves around an artist Prakash (Rajesh Khanna), who falls in love with Jyoti (Tanuja), but unfortunately, loses his eyesight in a tragic accident and gets separated from her. The duo meet again, when a kind man, Captain Vinod, who happens to be Jyoti's fiance, brings Prakash to Jyoti to help him recover, making it a love triangle. Which one of the two men will the fate favour?
