Corazon de la Cruz is a nurse in the Philippines in pursuit of the proverbial American dream. For her grandfather, this is a betrayal to one's country but despite this and the injustices being done by American soldiers to her community, Corazon and the rest of her family turn a blind eye in favor of their own dreams.
