Miss Truth

Ran Yan was kidnaped by a group of Huns for an autopsy and got into trouble. A young man who was looking for the Pearl of Sui saved her life without revealing his identity. Ran Yan, during running away from a marriage decided by her parents, accidently helped Xiao Song to solve the cause of death of a wanted man.

Xiao Song was also chasing the Pearl of Sui. He found Ran Yan's talent in autopsy and asked her to work for him. On the other hand, Ran Yan met the man who saved her life again and found him seriously injured. She secretly took him home and treated his injury.

Ran Yan finally agreed to work for Xiao Song. In order to investigate a case, Xiao Song pretended to be a drug dealer and was taken into the nest of a drug seller.

Xiao Song's subordinate, Bai Yi, asked Ran Yan to find where Xiao Song was taken to and to save him. Ran Yan pretended to be a musician and got into the nest where Xiao Song was. The two solved the case together.

In order to escape from the marriage her parents decided, Ran Yan went to the man who saved her life and asked him to kidnap her fiancé. He promised her, however on the arranged marriage day, a group of people came to pick her up as a bride. Ran Yan realized later on that it was a fake group managed by Xiao Song.

Xiao Song asked Ran Yan to do an autopsy for 4 bodies. After that Ran Yan was kidnapped and saved by the mysterious man who promised her to kidnap her fiancé. Ran Yan fainted, and when Xiao Song tried to stop the man from taking her away, the man told Xiao Song that he was Ran Yan's fiancé, Su Fu.

Sang　Chen, a scholar who admires Ran Yan, inspired her to find a clue to solve the murder of the 4 people. Ran Yan told Xiao Song about it, and Sang Chen joined Xiao Song and Ran Yan to solve the mystery. Su Fu revealed his identity as Ran Yan's fiancé to her.

Xiao Song, Ran Yan and Sang Chen found more clues to solve the murder of the 4 people, and the fact that one of the county constables, Zhu Qi, was suspicious. They went to his house to arrest him, yet found him and his beloved wife disappeared.

Xiao Song and Ran Yan found Zhu Qi's body and his suicide note. However, they found that someone threatened Zhu Qi with his wife unless he confessed the guilt. It seemed that Zhu Qi's supervisor, Assistant Magistrate Li, might be suspicious.

Assistant Magistrate Li was arrested. Xiao Song found that in the imperial palace there might be someone looking for the Pearl of Sui for rebellion. He also found that a man named Guo Fu, who used to be a general and saved the previous emperor's life, might have the Pearl of Sui, so he took Ran Yan with him to investigate Guo Fu.

Ran Yan was mad at Xiao Song for not being able to save her when Guo Fu tried to rape her. Ran Yan's younger sister, Ran　Meiyu went to Xiao Song and made him drink philter. Ran Yan went to a manor in a mountain to find her mother's body, and Su Fu came as well. A man died there. Xiao Song came to investigate the murder.

People in the manor said that the man might be killed by the Snow Demon. While Ran Yan was examining the man's body, it was taken away. Ran Yan and Su Fu found a secret path by which the Snow Demon got in and out the manor.

Ran Yan promised to be Xiao Song's personal coroner again. They found that the Snow Demon tended to kill cheating couples. Xiao Song disappeared while investigating. Ran Yan found the grave at the exit of the secret path suspicious.

Xiao Song came back safely, and the Snow Demon case was solved. However, Ran Yan was seriously hurt. Su Fu brought her to her master's house. The master told Su Fu that only the flesh from human heart could save her life. Su Fu decided to save Ran Yan with the flesh from his own heart.

Ran Yan's father asked her to come home on his birthday and announced her marriage with Su Fu in front of the guests. Ran Meiyu claimed to be pregnant and that Xiao Song was the child's father. That night, someone led Ran Yan to a clue to find something her mother left her in The House of Oriole.

Ran Yan found that her mother's body was hidden underground of her house. She examined the body and found her mother being beaten to death, instead of committing suicide. She also found that her mother's death might be related to Guo Fu, and the bracelet her mother left her might be a clue to her mother's death.

Ran Yan pretended to be insane. Without knowing the truth, Xiao Song asked Ran Yan's father for Ran Yan's hand and revealed the truth that Ran　Meiyu wasn't pregnant. Someone kidnapped Wanlv, Ran Yan's maid, and asked Ran Yan to poison Xiao Song. Ran Yan tried not to do so, yet Xiao Song was still poisoned, and his life was in danger.

Ran Yan saved Xiao Song's life. They found that what Ran Yan's mother left her in The House of Oriole was a lead to find the Pearl of Sui, and Ran Yan's stepmother, Gao, was suspicious to the deaths of Ran Yan's mother and other 3 related people. Ran Yan wanted to test Gao. Xiao Song went to Su Fu to ask for his help.

Gao confessed to the murders and then committed suicide. Xiao Song revealed Su Fu's identity of being the assassin of Fiery Dragon and wanted to arrest him, yet Ran Yan protected Su Fu. However, she left Su Fu sadly after knowing that he was approaching her in order to get the Pearl of Sui. Xiao Song and Ran Yan went to Chang'an separately.

Ran Yan stayed at her cousin, Ran Yunsheng's place, without knowing that Xiao Song was taking care of her secretly. At a party of a man named Liu Daoran, Ran Yan found some bones of a dead body hidden in a jade screen. Xiao Song asked her to take them out. Meanwhile they got to know that Su Fu became the Assistant Justice of the Court of Judicial Review.

Ran Yan and Xiao Song found that the bones hidden in the jade screen might belong to a man named Chai Yu, and the servant of the Lius', Zhang Yong, was suspicious. Xiao Song then found the full body of Chai Yu and 4 other bodies of Chai Yu's servants underground of the Lius' house.

Ran Yan examined the 5 bodies. She and Xiao Song realized that Liu Daoran's wife, Chu Yuezhu, used to be the fiancé of Chai Yu and had something to do with Chai Yu's death. When they pronounced that it was Chu Yuezhu who killed the 5 people, Liu Daoran confessed the murders in order to protect her.

Chu Yuezhu happened to be the only one who can solve the clue to find the Pearl of Sui. Xiao Song asked her to do so, but after that she was killed, and half of the clue was taken away. The emperor was very angry and suspended Xiao Song from his duties for a month. Xiao Song offended the Chief Minister of the Court of Judicial Review, Sun Zhen, for Ran Yan.

Ran Yan was brought to meet Xiao Song's family. She married Xiao Song in order to help him investigate the causes of death of his 2 ex-wives. While examining the bodies of them, Ran Yan found there was a candlestick and another body of a man in the coffin of Xiao Song's second ex-wife, Du Xinyi.

Ran Yan was led by someone to a secret garden. The imperial physician, Qi, declared that a plague was spread and forbade anyone to meet Ran Yan. Xiao Song found that Qi was the one who masterminded the fake plague, in order to poison the crown prince. The emperor reinstated Xiao Song in his post.
