A veteran nurse and single mother Ebere, who supervises an urban hospital neonatal ICU is increasingly estranged from her teenage son Gozie. She is drawn to one of her patients, a 2-month-old baby boy with a hole in his heart called Nathan who was abandoned at the clinic. When the hospital decides to send the child to a foster home, she takes the baby in going through the legal procedure.
