When a young heiress Anita, inherits a fortune from her late father, she has to get married a month after turning 21 in order to receive the money. Her strict disciplinarian aunt, Sita Devi comes up with a clever plan to acquire the wealth without actually getting married. She hires a young cartoonist Preetam to act as Anita's husband in a sham marriage but fate has other plans.
