Armed with metal detectors, trowels and shovels, the Mud Men, Johnny Vaughan and Steve Brooker, dig along the banks of the Thames uncovering a whole trunk full of artefacts; from jewelled daggers to slave manacles, medieval tiles to cursed Bellarmine pots. This leads them on a quest through the streets of the capital and to the Museum of London to unlock the secrets of England's remarkable past.
