Mossy and Gabe from New South Wales make a great husband-wife team. Today, they're taking a break from their day jobs as a cop and a lawyer to compete in the first My Kitchen Rules Instant Restaurant challenge.

Marc and Natalie are teachers from Western Australia, and when they aren't at school, they're in the kitchen. Tonight, they're filling their home with the warm glow of candlelight to turn it into an Instant Restaurant called Luminant.

Flatmates Paul and Mel from South Australia love hosting themed parties. Their cooking is bold and experimental, and they aren't easily intimidated. But a rainy forecast threatens their outdoor Instant Restaurant.

Deb and Ben from New South Wales met at a farmers' market and have been dating ever since. At their MKR Instant Restaurant, they're using a radical approach of cooking the food in a camp oven that's been burning for hours.

Veronica and Shadi are childhood sweethearts from Queensland. Coming from Italian and Lebanese backgrounds, they love food and family, and the menu for their Instant Restaurant will tell their guests the story of who they are.

Rowan and Sophia are workmates from Victoria who love exploring their city through its many restaurants. As with much of their cooking, their Instant Restaurant menu will be focused around unusual native ingredients.

Best friends Holly and Grace from Western Australia are just 21-year-old university students. But age isn't everything in the kitchen. Their Instant Restaurant, Hot Summer Nights, will express what they love about their region.

Matt and Melissa from South Australia are happily divorced after four years of marriage. They still agree on good cooking, and are setting up their Instant Restaurant in the kitchen of Matt's converted warehouse home.

The top four teams from the first rounds of the competition are put straight through to the semifinals. At the MKR headquarters, Clint and Noah cook-off against Matt and Melissa, while Rowan and Sophia face Tanja and Gen. In this sudden death round, two teams are eliminated.

Veronica and Shadi from Queensland cook-off against Tanja and Gen from Queensland for a spot in the finals. They must create a delicious 3-course dinner to impress the judges, plus special guests who are also renowned chefs.

The final two teams face off in the grand final, with Clint and Noah from Victoria cooking against Veronica and Shadi from Queensland. And a grand prize of 100,000 Australian dollars is on the line for the winning team.
