Namak Haraam (English: traitor), is a 1973 Indian Hindi drama film directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee. The film portrays the core issue of socialism as a cure for the plight of the lower and middle classes, signifying a responsibility of the wealthy which seems as relevant today as it was fourty years ago. This was the second Hrishikesh film with Rajesh Khanna and Amitabh Bachchan after "Anand".
