Neon Genesis Evangelion [Complete Series] (English Language Version)

Upon arriving in Tokyo-3, young Shinji Ikari is met with a desperate battle between a horrific Angel and the United Nations army. He heads to the headquarters of the paramilitary organization NERV and reunites with his father Gendo, who tasks him with exterminating the Angel.

Having piloted Eva-01, Shinji survives the fierce battle with the Angel and is taken in by Misato. An unknown city with unknown people. Even the ceiling he stares at in Misato’s apartment is unknown to him. Shinji is racked with memories of the desperate fight against the Angel.

Shinji is unable to make friends after transferring into his new school. He is confronted by Toji, whose sister was injured in a battle between an Angel and an EVA. No one understands how Shinji feels. At that moment, a siren alerting the approach of a new Angel echoes through the skies of Tokyo-3.

Shinji leaves Misato’s apartment and wanders the streets of Tokyo-3. He finds a moment of brief respite with his classmate Kensuke, but the next morning he is taken in by the adults from NERV. He is then met with the harshness of reality and a cold attitude from Misato.

Young Rei Ayanami shows no emotion and avoids contact with others. Shinji attempts to approach her, as she has a closer relationship with his father than he ever had. But she shows no indication of opening her heart to him. Meanwhile, an Angel approaches Tokyo-3.

Shinji is on the brink of death after taking a direct attack from the Fifth Angel’s particle beam. Meanwhile, Misato devises Operation Yashima to defeat the Angel by harnessing all of Japan’s electricity. This is the beginning of a battle they have a mere 8.7% chance of winning.

To compete with NERV’s EVA, Japan Heavy Chemical Industry constructs J.A. (JET ALONE). However, J.A. goes berserk during its product demonstration. Now J.A.'s nuclear reactor is in danger of going into meltdown. Misato boards J. A. herself and attempts to input the program deletion password, but...

Misato and Shinji head to the Pacific Fleet, which is transporting EVA-02 and meet the Second Children, Asuka Langley Soryu, and Misato’s ex-boyfriend, Ryoji Kaji. The strong-willed Asuka sees Shinji as a rival but then the Sixth Angel attacks. Asuka boards EVA-02 with Shinji to fight back, but...

The Seventh Angel, having been cut in half by EVA-02, splits into two entities and defeats the EVA. The only way to defeat the two Angels is by applying a heavy load to both cores at the same time. Misato begins training Shinji and Asuka to work in unison as a perfect combination.

The Eighth Angel is discovered in a chrysalis state in a volcanic crater. NERV announces A-17, a strategy to retrieve the Angel while it’s still alive. Piloting EVA-02, Asuka descends into the volcano. However, then the Angel begins to emerge. Asuka must fight alone in the scorching magma.

Tokyo-3 is plunged into an unexpected blackout. Gendo and Fuyutsuki judge that the blackout is sabotage and struggle to maintain order. Then the Ninth Angel attacks. Shinji and the others hurry to NERV headquarters. There they are met with the EVAs that Gendo has manually started.

The Tenth Angel drops itself from outside of the atmosphere to strike a direct hit on NERV headquarters. Misato proposes a strategy that has only a 0.00001% chance of success and Ritsuko accuses her of acting out of her own desire for revenge. Will a miracle save them from the falling Angel?

The Eleventh Angel is the size of bacteria and begins infecting NERV facilities as it evolves at an alarming rate. The Angel finally succeeds in hacking the MAGI System and commanding NERV headquarters to self-destruct. Ritsuko proposes to reverse-hack the Angel and cause it to destroy itself.

Gendo denies that an Angel ever invaded headquarters. At NERV, compatibility tests are being conducted between pilots and their machines. However, EVA- 00 begins polluting Shinji’s mind and goes berserk. It pounds away at the monitoring room as if unleashing a deep hatred. Is its target Rei, or…

EVA-03 arrives in Japan from the US, and Misato and the others head to Matsushiro to perform an activation experiment. After they begin the experiment EVA-03 goes berserk, an Angel has parasitized it. Gendo identifies EVA-03 as the Thirteenth Angel and directs Shinji and the others to destroy it.

Shinji decides to step down as an EVA pilot after becoming angry at his father. Just as he is leaving Tokyo-3, the Fourteenth Angel attacks. It overwhelms NERV headquarters with its incredible power and destroys EVA-02 and EVA- 00. Amongst the explosions and screams, Shinji meets a certain man.

Having reached a synchronization of 400% with EVA-01, Shinji does not emerge after the fighting. His body has fused with the LCL. What is it that “he” wants as he continues the conversation with himself? Ritsuko and the others plan a salvage operation to save Shinji.

SEELE, disturbed by Gendo’s arbitrary lead, kidnaps Fuyutsuki and interrogates him. Trapped in a state of confinement, Fuyutsuki remembers Yui and Gendo’s meeting in 1999 that could be called the catalyst of the Second Impact in 2000, and the birth of NERV

Asuka takes the shock of the unprecedented decrease in her synch rate harder than anyone else. Cruel memories of her childhood haunt her. With her own meaning for existing on the line, she attacks the encroaching Angel. However, her pride is completely shattered when EVA-02 remains silent.

Rei moves to intercept a newly encroaching Angel, but her body and mind are eroded. In order to save her, Gendo breaks the committee’s freeze order and activates EVA-01. However, Shinji is soon also infiltrated by the Angel. At that moment, Rei comes to her own decision.

A young man, Kaworu Nagisa, appears as the Fifth Children. He shows an affinity for Shinji. Shinji hesitates, but he senses that Kaworu is the only person he can truly talk to. However, Kaworu was an agent sent by SEELE. Shinji has to make a harsh choice.
