The team are tasked with investigating the death of a notorious highcourt barrister, David Barrie, found trussed up in his car twenty years earlier. Pullman digs for dirt and discovers from an old soho call girl that the barrister had very odd sexual penchants.

UCOS take to the streets of Southall to try and track down the attacker of a young Asian woman, left lying in a coma after a vicious beating. Young Asian officer Pushkar Guha is drafted in to help out, and forms an unlikely alliance with Gerry Standing.

A bungled murder case involving a misidentified young girl is re-investigated by the team. Hannah Taylor was abducted, and presumed dead, but UCOS swiftly discover that she is, in fact, still alive. Hannah claims she simply ran away from her abusive mother, so who was it that demanded a ransom?

The team are approached by a tabloid newspaper editor, claiming that a world famous celebrity chef callously murdered her husband. Is his story pure fantasy or does her squeaky clean public image mask a terrible secret?

When an old friend of Halford's brings the team a priceless red diamond, they find themselves re-investigating a multi million pound jewellery heist. But in order to get to the heart of the diamond trade, Sandra and Gerry must pose as an unlikely couple. Will their outlandish ploy allow them to crack the case?

When Gerry loses badly at poker, he agrees to pay back the debt by investigating the suspicious death of a bookie. Soon the team are plunged into the world of greyhound racing, but will Gerry be able to conceal his dodgy dealing from a suspicious Sandra?

UCOS re-open the unsolved abduction of two ten year old boys, alerted by the similiarities with the reign of terror of a current serial killer. The case draws them into the murky world of competitive fishing, igniting Brian's long buried passion for the sport. Meanwhile an irritable Gerry struggles to give up smoking.

The team are set their toughest challenge yet: discovering the identity of a murder victim from just her torso. With the help of eccentric pathologist Professor Mears, a man who makes even Brian look normal, the team get on the trail of a devious killer, who believes his gruesome crime will never be solved.
