Nobunaga had been sending the daimyo of Yamato, Matsunaga Hisahide various letters, but hasn’t heard back from him, so he orders Chidori to infiltrate Yamato. However, it was said to be impossible to infiltrate Hisahide’s Tamonyama Castle.

Hisahide yields to Nobunaga, and Nobunaga tells Hisahide to continue his rule over Yamato. However, Mitsuhide brings up some concerns because of the three evils Hisahide had committed. Nobunaga tells him to forget about his past.

Ashikaga Yoshiaki becomes the 15th shogun of the Muromachi Shogunate and offers to make Nobunaga his second in command or even the Kanrei in return for his services. However, Nobunaga ends up declining both offers because he wasn’t interested in receiving titles.

While Nobunaga was celebrating New Year’s in Gifu, a huge incident in Kyo shakes up the Oda Clan. An army attacks the imperial palace where Ashikaga Yoshiaki is. The ones leading the army are the Miyoshi Three and a mysterious man who seeks revenge against Nobunaga.

The imperial palace is attacked by Saito Tatsuoki, who had been reborn, and Mitsuhide has Chidori go seek the aid of Hosokawa Fujitaka. Meanwhile, Mitsuhide tries to hold down the fort. Will the reinforcements get there in time?

A missionary from Portugal named Luís Fróis who came to Japan to spread the teachings of Deus visits the imperial palace. He asks Nobunaga for permission to spread the teachings of Deus throughout Japan, and Nobunaga asks him why he risked his life to come to Japan.

The Oda Clan’s next target is Ise. Oda regroups with Takigawa Kazumasu, who is the liege of one of his territories in order to win against the father and son duo of Kitabatake Tomonori and Tomofusa, who rule over South Ise. However, Kazumasu hates shinobi, and apparently there is an oni in the Kitabatake army...

Takigawa Kazumasu plans a raid on Kitabatake’s castle, but that information gets leaked and he and his troops get attacked instead. Tomonori is strong as a demon and Kazumasu doesn’t stand a chance. Chidori then shows up just in the nick of time!

While the Oda army is trying to take over Tomonori’s castle, Chidori challenges him to a duel. Tomonori refuses to let Oda conquer him, and wants to live out the rest of his life as a master swordsman. His skill and speed are on another level! Does Chidori have any chance of winning?

After unequipping all of her extra projectile weapons, Chidori becomes even faster and attacks Tomonori. Tomonori uses his final trump card and does his special attack, and then...

Nobunaga manages to conquer Ise. When he gets back to Kyoto, Yoshiaki is doing whatever he wants, so he has him agree to five rules. This was so that Nobunaga could continue unify the country, despite a hundred years of fighting.

Oichi, who married into the Azai family, welcomed her second child, so Nobunaga has Chidori go and visit her. Meanwhile, Nobunaga was talking to his ally, Tokugawa Ieyasu on what their next step would be. However, their next plan battle had an ulterior motive...

The true reason that Nobunaga attacked Muto comes to light, and it was to go after Asakura Yoshikage of the Echizen Province. The allied forces of Oda and Tokugawa first take over Tezutsuyama Castle, and then take over Kanegasaki Castle, but Hisahide and Hanbee seem to think things are going too well...

Nobunaga attacking the Asakura Clan puts the Azai Clan in a weird position, as they are supposed to be allies to both clans. The head of the clan, Nagamasa, who is also Nobunaga’s brother-in-law, says that they cannot attack Nobunaga. However, his father and former head of the clan, Hisamasa, begins preparations to attack Nobunaga’s forces, and tries to get rid of Chidori, who had come to see...

Because of the betrayal of the Azai Clan, Nobunaga’s forces are being attacked from the front and back. Hideyoshi, Hanbee and Chidori stay behind to act as the rearguard. However, the ones who were leading the pursuit on the Oda forces were two of the Asakura Clan’s most renowned commanders.

The Asakura Clan commanders, Yamazaki and Makara face off with Hideyoshi’s forces of 3,000 men with an army of 20,000. Part of the Hideyoshi forces stay behind at Kanegasaki Castle in order to slow them even more. The Asakura Clan immediately begin their attack, but Hanbee’s plan was already in effect.

Chidori takes care of 50 Asakura soldiers before dawn when they had their guard down. Enraged, Magara and his forces go after the Oda army. It’s said that his giant blade can break bones even through armor and that makes some of the Oda troops quake in fear.

Nobunaga’s main forces are trapped by Kutsuki Mototsuna and his forces. It’s then that Matsunaga says he’ll go work things out with Kutsuki. Toshiie worries about Matsunaga betraying them, but they were left with no other alternatives. What is Matsunaga up to?

Nobunaga and his main forces are able to get through Kutsukidani safely after Matsunaga convinces Kutsuki to side with them. However, Hideyoshi’s rearguard forces were being pushed to their final limits. Hanbee tells them that they could successfully get away at this point, but what does Hideyoshi decide to do?

Chidori’s blade is shattered by Magara’s giant blade and her life is threatened. However, she was determined to go back home with everyone else, no matter what. The battle between the Hideyoshi forces and the Asakura forces finally draws to a close.

After acting as the rearguard, Chidori and the others finally get back to Kyoto. Nobunaga was very pleased with Hideyoshi’s work, but there was uncertainty in the air after this battle, because the Azai clan, who was their ally, had now become an enemy.

At the battle of Kanegasaki, the Oda clan suffered a huge loss and the Asakura clan had a huge victory. Since the Azai clan sided with the Asakura clan, Nagamasa tells Oichi that he will divorce her since she is Oda Nobunaga’s little sister. However, Oichi decides to stay with Nagamasa and the Azai clan.

The Oda clan decides to go through Chigusa Pass on their way back from Kyoto to Gifu. However, Rokkaku Yoshikata, who had lost to Nobunaga before, was waiting for them. He sends a Koga ninja to assisinate Nobunaga and he aims a rifle at the unsuspecting Nobunaga...

The Oda army returns to Gifu. Chidori goes to have her broken blades replaced. She goes to the same blacksmith that created her first blades and when she tells him what happened to them, his expression changes. Will he be willing to make her new blades?
