Liz and Kate are teenage sisters with Asperger's in a small bayou town, living with their alcoholic father. Liz enjoys solitary time contemplating the origin of trees and Van Gogh's Blue Period, while Kate seeks acceptance from "normal types" (non-spectrum people). Despite their differences, they work together to achieve their dreams of going to college and finding boyfriends before the year ends.
