Nurses Who Kill

2016 marked the 25th anniversary of a crime spree which at first baffled and then profoundly shocked Britain's Medical community. Four children were murdered, others with routine medical conditions were left fighting for their lives.

Over three months at a general hospital in Oxfordshire England two patients had died and a further fifteen had become serious inexplicably gravely ill for conditions they should not have been suffering from. A staff Nurse was on duty each time, one who revelled in the thrill of trying to revive the patients.

Drawing on court reports, evidence uncovered, recollections of those involved and using dramatic reconstructions of real life events, this program will tell the story of Nurse Genene Jones. Whilst she was on duty children began inexplicably dying on wards, ten times as many deaths occurred on the wards patrolled by Nurse Genene Jones.

Stephan Letter - was superficially a model German nurse. Using dramatic reconstructions of real-life events, this programme will ask, Is Stephan Letter responsible for the murder of dozens on wards at Sonthofen hospital in Germany?

In 2012 jurors at a courtroom in Texas were asked to find Nurse Kimberly Saenz guilty or not guilty of murder. It had been alleged that she had targeted not just vulnerable dialysis patients - but had cynically used the very equipment they relied on to live as a murder weapon. Small-town America was in shock, could it be true?

Privacy rules mean that in Germany he is known as Niels 'H'. The camera shy Nurse Niels has much to hide…Niels H is still to reveal the extent of his homicidal behaviour whilst working in two hospitals in the North of Germany… He admits he has killed, but how many times? And why? Germany is trying to answer those questions.

Colin Norris was, by some accounts, an excellent Nurse. So, when inexplicable deaths on the ward at the hospitals where he worked were happening, he was not suspected. Colin Norris, is either a skilled manipulator to a psychopathic degree, or the prosecution evidence should be re-examined as this may be a significant miscarriage of justice. Colin Norris has been found guilty of murder.

In May 2015, Nurse Victorino Chua was tried for Murder at Manchester Crown Court. The jury would hear that, whilst Chua was working at Stepping Hill Hospital in Stockport, 21 patients had inexplicably suffered hypoglycemia attacks - in lay terms, life-threatening low blood sugar levels.

2003 saw the arrest of a man who would eventually confess to the murder of at least 40 patients on wards throughout New Jersey. Charles Cullen strangely was actually a good nurse, he did his job well , but he was also an incredibly troubled man. The true number of his victims may be nearer 400…we will probably never know, because the killer Nurse Charles Cullen, won't say.
