Overprotected Kahoko

Masataka Nemoto, who works at an insurance company, is worried about the future of his only child Kahoko. Kahoko's parents doted on her, and she grew up in a very overprotective household. Masataka fears the abnormal codependence between his daughter and his wife. Still, seeing her laugh like a princess, he's unable to stop spoiling his daughter. ©NIPPON TV

Kahoko begins to seriously contemplate her future and visits her father and other relatives' workplaces with her mother Izumi. During this time, Kahoko learns that her cousin Ito will be participating in a competition with a wrist injury. On the day of the actual competition, Kahoko's worst nightmare awaits. ©NIPPON TV

Kahoko realizes she is falling in love for the first time. When Izumi learn of this, she is strongly opposed to it. She fires one insult after another about Hajime. For the first time in her life, Kahoko yells at her mother. ©NIPPON TV

Kahoko and Izumi's strong bond is crumbling, and Masataka is caught between the two. Kahoko feels heartbroken for the first time in her life when Hajime rejects her. Looking for a way to feel better, she follows Masataka's suggestion and visits her grandparents' home. There, she gets drunk for the first time. ©NIPPON TV

Masataka snaps at his wife and daughter, and finally leaves home. As time goes on, his relatives' problems gradually come to light. Thanks to Hajime's influence, Kahoko starts to realize just how sheltered she has been. She takes this opportunity to think seriously about her future. ©NIPPON TV

Izumi suddenly leaves home after hearing Kahoko's declaration that she wants to become independent. With the mother gone, the house is a complete mess, and Masataka and Kahoko have to work hard at chores they're not used to doing. Kahoko is happy that Hajime asked to go steady with her in front of her parents, but he's so bashful he won't call her by her first name or say he likes her. ©NIPPON TV

Masataka watches with high expectations while Kahoko and Izumi awkwardly try to move away from their familiar overprotective relationship. Kahoko gives it her all for Hatsuyo to try and gather relatives for Ito's birthday party. Hajime and Kahoko's relationship subtly changes as he tries to stop her. ©NIPPON TV

Kahoko becomes very depressed after fighting and breaking up with Hajime over differences in family values, but she puts on a happy face in front of her parents. Kahoko wants to give Hatsuyo a grandchild, and tells the sick Hatsuyo that she is going to look for a husband. Meanwhile, Hajime can't seem to concentrate on his art. ©NIPPON TV

Kahoko and Hajime ask their parents for permission to tie the knot, but Izumi makes it clear that she will disown Kahoko if they marry. Amidst this, Hatsuyo collapses, and the problem between the two families grows worse. Kahoko and Hajime help each other out, and do their best to repair their families. ©NIPPON TV

Kahoko and Hajime try once again to ask for Izumi and Masataka's blessing. Hajime doesn't know what to say when Izumi asks if he can make Kahoko happier than she can. On the day of the ceremony, Izumi is nowhere to be found. ©NIPPON TV
