Two former schoolmates from Quito meet by chance in Panama City in 1985. They have not seen each other since graduation and although they were close then, they have taken opposite paths: Esteban works in banking and is in Panama on business, not always legal. José Luis introduces himself as a journalist but is actually a member of the guerrilla Alfaro Vive ¡Carajo!
