Pioneer One

An old Soviet space capsule re-enters the Earth's atmosphere, spreading radiation over North America. Homeland Security Director Tom Taylor, along with his "B team" of agents, are the first ones on the scene to investigate and contain the damage.

After discovering that the mysterious boy inside the capsule may have been born on Mars, Dr. Walzer is tasked with proving it. Could the Soviet Union have sent a mission to Mars in the 1980s that nobody knew about?

With the mysterious Martian boy Yuri now stable, Taylor and company remain holed up in the Calgary airbase under a two-week quarantine. Unable to get the boy to talk, Taylor is forced to expand his team.

As Jane builds her relationship with Yuri in the Calgary base, Taylor finds they're losing control of the story in the media. Secretary McClellan, searching for any alternative explanation to the Mars story, may be playing a game of his own.

When an unannounced visitor breaks into the Calgary base, Dr. Walzer is caught sharing secret information with the outside. But their new guest, Walzer's eccentric colleague Aleksei Chertov, may be able to corroborate Yuri's story.

Taylor must risk his career to tell Yuri's story to the world. His plans spiral out of control, lives are lost, and everyone involved with Yuri has their destiny altered forever.
