Those of us who were between 15 and 25 years old during the emergence of American alternative bands at the turn of the 80s and 90s will most likely watch this excellent documentary on the Pixies with a twinge of sadness. To have experienced first hand the emergence of a major musical trend (commonly referred to as indie rock today), is in retrospect a rather special feeling.
