Ace, a boy in Vienna City living an average life, finds a mysterious egg calling for his name. Little does he know that the egg is a special "Drop" that both Lance, the Dragon Caller, and the Special Drop Defensive Force are looking for.

Lance fights the Chaos Devil Dragon, but has a difficult time due to SDF's intervention. The special egg speaks to Ace, and Ace is able to create more Drops for Lance, leading to victory. Curious about everything, Ace goes to the Dragon Museum.

Tamazo, the special egg that hatched, gets kidnapped by the SDF. In order to rescue him, Ace and Charo sneaks inside the SDF base. After successfully rescuing Tamazo, Charo convinces Ace to go to Dragoza Island with him to become Dragon Callers together.

Ace, Tamazo, and Charo safely arrives on Dragoza Island. When he visits his grandmother, she gives him a D-Gear; a device used by Dragon Callers. Eager to try it out, Ace goes into the woods to find a monster that would become his ally.

Obtaining D-Gear and his first monster, Ouka, Ace wants to take the next step - getting his hands on a Soul Armor. Donny tells them that he can find one at the Sacred Temple, but warns that everyone who has set foot there have never returned...

Ace quickly takes another step forward in becoming a strong Dragon Caller as he welcomes another monster to his team. He builds his confidence from this, but, he may be biting off more than he could chew when he goes off to stop a Drop Impact himself.

To become a stronger Dragon Caller, Ace goes into training under Herriot's wing. Just when he completes his training, he learns of the Guild Dragon Caller's exam. Will he be able to pass the exam and become a Guild Dragon Caller?

Ace faces his final test in his Guild Dragon Caller's exam - a one-on-one battle with Morgan, the Dragon Caller of Dark. She has her "stud-monster," Vampire Lord, and isn't holding back. Can Ace and his team withstand her attacks and win the battle?

Ace and his friends arrive at the Fire City Geyser, when Garnet calls them over to help out at her concert. There, they meet Tiger, a man from Geyser with flaming-hot passion. When the Drop Impact hits during the concert, it's up to them to save the day.

To figure out why the hot spring has turned into water, Ace and his friends goes to find the monster that acts as a heat source. There, they find Salamander in a weakened state. They find a way to help him, but their plan may have backfired...

With the Ancient of Wood, Tinbell, taking ill, he decided to step down and named two candidates as the next Ancient; One of whom is the one who saved Charo's life. However, not being able to handle the pressure very well, his odds doesn't look so good...

As the new Ancient of Wood, Torlie is put to the test to prove he's worthy, but he still hasn't overcome his stage-fright. Meanwhile, Ace and his friends go inside the woods in search of Charo's D-Gear, but something is very wrong there...

It's Charo's first time, Ace's second time, and Tiger's, well, eleventh time taking the Guild Dragon Caller's Exam. But their last test is a battle against Lance. Lance allows all three of them to fight him at once, but can they still manage to beat him?
