Quo Vadis

In the first episode, Vinicio asks his father for help, who advises him to kidnap the young woman. But the man loves her immensely and would never dream of committing such an act. Driven by desire, he decides to confess his crazy love to her, but she rejects him and mysteriously disappears.

Vinicius follows Lygia as she goes to the catacombs to pray with the members of her community. As a soldier in the service of Emperor Nero, who despises Christians to the point of having them killed in the Colosseum, Vinicius is faced with a life-changing decision: to remain hidden or to arrest them all.

The Christians emerge from the catacombs, unknowingly followed by Vinicius. Before them unfolds a cruel and bloody spectacle: the burning of Rome. Everywhere the desperate cries of the people echo, as they run terrified from one corner to another to escape death. Due to the panic, the Christian community is scattered, and Lygia disappears without a trace.

Vinicio decides to leave Rome, following the leader of the Christian community, who turns out to be Saint Peter. The man teaches him the fundamentals of his religion and converts him with a sacred rite. When Vinicio strays from the path to look for food, he is arrested by Roman guards. Returning to the spot, at the edge of the road...

The protagonist returns to the city in search of Licia, who is nowhere to be found. Suddenly, guards arrest him, mistaking him for a homeless madman. Freeing himself from their grasp, Vinicio flees towards a large abandoned farmhouse, where he hides, believing he has shaken off the guards, but their shouts penetrate his mind: "Where are you?

Licia is saved from the massacre of Christians by a gladiator who seems to have appeared out of nowhere; his name is Ursus. Behind the stands, the two kiss, and Licia confesses to the mysterious man that she has fallen in love with him. When he then removes his mask, and the woman recognizes her savior as the man who had desired her so much, she bursts into tears.
