RideThePlanet freeride media project presents third episode of season - 2017. Filmed in various regions of Norway, this travel story shows one of the most scenic lands on the planet, with all its gorgeous scenery. Rapids, waterfalls and whitewater streams - as seen and explored by strongest Russian kayakers.

In May in most of the mountain areas snow starts to transform into water, converting winter playgrounds for upcoming summer season. But in remote high-altitude areas it comes a time for perfect backcountry trips, demanding but rewarding at the same time. Kazakhstan has one of the highest mountains in this part of the planet, many of them unexplored by modern skiers.

Trip to Western Caucasus has been on the list since we've made one of our best high-altitude freeride episodes here years before. There's always something more to see in Arkhyz, so this time we spent few days living and riding around a special place, astronomers' settlement just near the second biggest-in-the-world telescope.

Elbrus region is not much known in the world, but highly valued by inner circle of freeride community. Skiing the vast wild areas from up to 4000 mt. that are reachable by gondola is something that true freerider will always be up to. And these mountains are the cradle of mountain culture, where strongest Russian freeriders, mountain guides and mountaineers were born or spent most of their time.

What about downhill and freeride options for MTB there? RideThePlanet team knows the secret trails and explores the mountains, the seaside and the ancient ruins as well.

With its height of 5642 m, Elbrus and its region stands out from other parts of Main Caucasian Ridge. Desert highlands resemble of moon surface, and steep reliefs could be the perfect playground for freeride - but will riders manage the altitude, the winds and the speed?

Team explores old towns, bikeparks and backcountry freeride in relic Slovak forests, and visits Leogang, Austria, to take part in a stage of UCI Mountainbike World Downhill Cup.

It was filmed in Northern Ossetia republic, mountainous, small, sparsely populated, but the lands here have centuries of sated history. Ancient monuments and burials, high watchtowers and ruins of forts can be found in most of the desert valleys here. And the mountains are harsh, wild and possibly never seen freeriders before.

Famous for its hospitality and centuries-old traditions, Georgia is one of the most scenic destinations in Caucasus - and it's full of possibilities for action sport and exploration, with lots of historic monuments.

African adventure is surely special - just like any other on RideThePlanet list. But it's not an exaggeration that White Nile big waters are something of high value for whitewater kayakers. Special enough to fly around the globe, and to go deep into Africa continent. These rapids may disappear in the nearest future because of human impact.

Civilization came into Khibiny region on Kola peninsula less than hundred years ago, following discovery of valuable minerals. Before these polar lands were sparsely populated, with native Pomor people living further by the White sea. Freeride around mines and factories brings mixed emotions, but polar nature remains bigger than any invasion. And it's definitely worth seeing.

It was filmed in September 2012 in different regions of Kyrgyzstan - mountainous country that started to gain popularity among travelers only in recent years. Steep canyons, vast windy plains and high rough mountain ranges that were settled by nomadic tribes... Lands not suitable for every tourist, and rivers that only the strongest paddlers may try.

Lofoten islands are the ultimate destination for those who wish to go into the wilderness. Beautiful and almost perfect, just like a painters' masterpiece, this place has a lot of options to enjoy outdoor activities, from surfing to backcountry skiing. But it stays true to the roots, so no lifts or helicopters are used. And the life by the cold sea keeps its measured rhythm.

Unexplored ski region in just a couple hours of drive from the airport - could that be real? It still is, but not for a long time though. Check out what it's like to ride in a wild mountains and be first with the skis in the valleys where the Great Silk Road once ran.

"Island of breathing volcanoes", "another planet", "one of the craziest spots to ride ever" - it's all about Kamchatka, peninsula at the far-East of Russia that consists of volcanic landscapes and surrounded by Pacific ocean.
