Gentle, shy Mr. Hoppy lives alone, with only his beautiful balcony garden for company. He secretly and hopelessly loves the effervescent Mrs. Silver, who lives downstairs. Unfortunately, she is more interested in her beloved pet tortoise, Alfie.
