SON OF A CRITCH

As school begins, Fox gets a new boyfriend and Mark realizes not everyone grows at the same speed. Mike Jr. struggles to tell his parents that he dropped out of school.

Fox's jilted boyfriend threatens to beat up Mark. Mark asks Pop to teach him to fight. Mike Sr learns he is making less at the station than his son and Mary pushes him to demand a raise.

The school hosts a 24-hour-famine and Mark is determined to raise the most money. Meanwhile, the refrigerator breaks at the Critch house, forcing the family to cook all their food at once.

To impress Fox, Mark heads off school grounds for lunch with her brothers. But things take a turn for the worse, when the older boys challenge Mark to drink his first beer.

Mark uncovers dark family secrets when he researches the Critch family tree. Meanwhile, a death in the family causes Pop to reassess his relationship with his son.

Mark falls under the spell of a visiting hypnotist and lets his grades slip. Meanwhile, Pop struggles to lose weight when he gets too fat for his pants.

An ice-storm causes a city-wide blackout and the Critch family is forced to sit and talk to each other. Meanwhile, when his father's back goes out, Mike Jr has to broadcast all night alone.

The kids are allowed to wear jeans at school for Spirit Week. The only problem is that Mark doesn't own a pair. Meanwhile, Sister Rose picks Mary to join her choir.

Mark feels the school trip to France is the perfect location to woo Fox and win her back. Meanwhile, Pop uses the trip to revisit his past life as a bootlegger with Al Capone.

A regional science fair opens Mark and Ritche up to kids from other schools. The boys both fall for girls from other schools but decide to pretend to be Protestants to win them over.

Mark is too sick to go see the Pope at an outdoor mass. Meanwhile, a rival radio station tries to tempt Mike Jr away from VOCM, breaking Mike Sr's heart.

When Fox's father gets arrested, Mark lobbies his father not to report on the crime. Meanwhile, Pop and Mary steal cable with a descrambler.

Mark is excited to see the once in a lifetime visit of Halley's Comet. But the magic of the event is lost when he learns of Fox's family news.
