Section Zéro

A few years in the future the world is run by multi-national companies. Prometheus is one of the most dominant, protecting its interests with its own highly trained and ruthless security force – the Black Squad. Police Squad Leader Sirius Beaumont, Major Bob Bianchi and Lieutenant Cheyenne Rodriguez respond to a call of an attack in a nightclub.

Lou is rushed to the hospital in critical condition where Sirius finds Batskin waiting outside in a car and hurls himself at him with gun drawn. Élie Klein has to shoot Sirius in the chest to bring him down; his kevlar vest saves his life. Cheyenne gives Lou’s bag, recovered from the car, to Sirius; having found two sachets of chimere inside.

Sirius’ funeral. Elie Klein, Sirius’ wife and son are there. A biker, Saber, watches everything. In a Muslim community, mercenaries sporting the same tattoo as Sorensen, slaughter the inhabitants. When Saber returns he sees they’ve taken his sister and killed his mother. At the funeral gathering, Elie is approached by Nadia Rosen, a ballistics expert. She wants to talk to her about Sirius’ death.

Elie and Sirius are both clinging to life. Varnove has kept Sirius’ survival a secret from everyone. Varnove has access to the most cutting-edge medical technology and has kept him alive. Meanwhile Van Zant from the Black Squad has tracked down Grinko. He goes to Eva’s apartment to punish her for betraying her Russian ‘family’ and makes her lure Yukov into a trap.

Bianchi is shot by the young killer Baby Gun but Cheyenne barely fights back; he can’t bring himself to shoot an eight-year-old. At the Section Zéro manor, Papa Charly tries to calm Sirius, who is worried about his family. On the way to the hospital, Bianchi is kidnapped by the Black Squad but has just enough time to get rid of his electronic bracelet, which is then picked up by Rusty.

On a deserted road in the lower town, the Section traps Yukov and his men. Sirius, Lucy Lee and Janko make a gruesome discovery: dead bodies – lots of them, boys and men with parts of their skulls removed - are lined up in trucks. In the huge Block 13 warehouse, two MEKAs throw Bianchi into a pit – to the horror of dozens of onlooking prisoners in rags.

Elie Klein decides to start looking for Baby Gun while Cheyenne is left to investigate the bodies of Route 67 and Papa Charly’s disappearance alone. In the Prometheus tower in the High City, another debate takes place between Eberling and his advisor, Josephson. Josephson is a supporter of releasing Munro from his position now that Diane Becker‘s research allows for control over MEKA.

To give a calming signal to the bubbling rage of the population, Anke Eberling is forced to dismiss Munro. In his place, she appoints the recently acquitted Franck Varnove as the head of police. Varnove asks Sirius to lead the BRCV. But Sirius has other priorities; he wants his old life back. Elie searches for her daughter Baby Gun in The Steps, while Munro is using her to prepare an attack.
