Shoah: The Forgotten Souls

Shoah: The Forgotten Souls

Images of war are inspired by a cinematographic tradition of aestheticism, but were also driven by political goals. This strategy of "war-by-image" leaves out a crucial piece of information: the identity of the victims. The subjects are forgotten. This film reexamines the images recorded during WWII to reveal the contrast between the messages transmitted to the public versus the truth.
