Vijay (as Sivakasi), who had left his obscure village for good to seek his fortunes, has settled in Chennai. He falls in love with Asin, but she lays a condition that he has to come with his family to ask for her hand in marriage. Vijay goes to his native village, only to find his father dead and nothing is in order. The rest of the movie is about how Vijay sets right everything.
