Though Kim Chul Soo and Lee Ma Ri both share a difficult childhood, their adult lives lead them on very different paths. Ma Ri becomes a highly successful actress, while Chul Soo ends up being a struggling part-time university lecturer.

Lee Ma Ri leaves for Japan all of a sudden after receiving a mysterious letter, throwing her agency's staff into a frenzy as they search for her whereabouts. Meanwhile, Chul Soo gets to know Ma Ri better as they spend time together in Japan.
