Nana Shirakawa, Honoka’s famous best friend, grows suspicious of Yamato after seeing the way he interacts with Suzuka - and the superstar isn’t afraid to confront him.

Yamato lies to Honoka, hoping to conceal the fact that he’s hunting for her birthday present. But she gets her biggest surprise when she learns that Suzuka was his partner on the secret shopping trip.

Yamato takes Suzuka’s advice and apologizes to Honoka for the mess he made of her birthday. But after so much pain, his attempt at patching up their relationship leaves things permanently broken.

While Honoka gives him the cold shoulder, Yamato tries to keep the facts behind their split from Suzuka and finds surprising support from Miki.

Struggling at practice, Yamato’s obviously distracted after fighting with Suzuka. Miki tries to coach him in matters both on the field and off, but her advice somehow only leads to more problems for Yamato.

To win Suzuka’s heart, Yamato sets his sights on becoming the number one sprinter in Japan! A second place finish in a race with the current record holder leaves him more determined than ever to be the best.
