Tastes Like Home

In this episode, we meet Grainne Hill at the Irish National Stud, a very special place for both her and Peter, as this is where they first met! We chat to her about their love for horses which is what ultimately what brought Peter all the way to live and work in Jeju Island, South Korea.

In this episode, we travel to Roosky, Co. Roscommon to the McGowan's farm, first we meet Lisa's brother Ronan who gives Catherine a lift out to his mum Mary who is in the fields feeding the sheep. Mary as she tells us about how much she misses her only daughter Lisa who's been living abroad for over two years now and how much Lisa misses home cooked foods.

Our Tastes Like Home episode is a little different this week as we are looking at the life of someone who's moved away from her home in South Africa and is now living in Sligo, Catherine travels to Capetown, in South Africa to learn how to cook "Cape Malay Curries" so she can cook one for Berenice when she returns to Ireland.

On Tastes Like Home Catherine Fulvio meets Alexandra & her family, who moved to Ireland in the 90's from Russia, we taste traditional Russian dishes, before heading to visit Alexandra's sister Anna who lives in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. Catherine heads into the jungle to meet & cook with a traditional Mayan family, tries her hand at Zip-lining and visits a Cenotes.

On Tastes Like Home this week Catherine visits the Botanic Gardens in Belfast to meet Lilian Parkes, before heading to Johannesburg in South Africa to meet her best friend Laura Greer. Catherine travels through Soweto with a local guide in a Tuk Tuk & tastes "Walkie Talkies" a local delicacy of chicken beaks and feet !

In this episode, Catherine travels to Carrick On Suir to meet Ethel to find out a little more about Aunt Bernadette's Beef Stew and the ingredients she uses that makes it so special. Catherine will then travel to LA hoping to bring back some of those childhood memories for Oonagh with the recipe.
