The Awakening

One rainy night, the life of Dr. Yann Violine is drastically changed, when he knocks down a young woman with his car. The woman is rushed to the hospital where it is determined that she has lost her memory and carries an unknown bacteria. Soon, Dr. Yann, the hospital staff, and the police discover that she has the power to read people's minds and exchange memories and abilities.

The young stranger still has no personal memories. On the other hand, she knows everything about Yann. She has absorbed the doctor's memory as if it were her own. She can also read other people's minds, knowing, for example, when she's dealing with a dangerous criminal. Now she has to prove her point.

A bacterium is discovered in Elle's blood. Unfortunately for the young amnesiac, this new element doesn't tell her much about her identity. The organism is completely unknown to the researchers, who have no idea of its properties. Contaminated by this strange biological substance, Martin, the lab assistant who found the organism, flees.

Shakin, Elle's alleged father, carries the toxic mold of a plant that has been extinct for 4,000 years. He ransacks the laboratory before being neutralized. WHO experts enter the hospital. Little do they know that what they are about to discover goes far beyond the scope of their scientific knowledge.

Yann and the young amnesiac set out to find a high-school girl who has been missing for six years. Yann, who possesses strange mind-reading powers, soon finds the teenager in a critical condition. The student is drugged, very ill and completely untransportable. Only an immediate blood transfusion can save her.

The young woman has disappeared. Yann is looking for her like crazy. Meanwhile, the schoolgirl has been taken to hospital in a deep coma. Blood tests show that she is, alas, condemned by a deadly virus. The tests also prove that she has been contaminated by the mysterious bacteria.
