In the late 1930s, a 17-year-old seamstress from the Piedmontese province moves to Turin in search of better economic prospects. There she meets a young painter who introduces her to the artistic bohemian scene in the city. Through this encounter, she discovers new facets of herself and is confronted with questions of identity, sexuality and personal freedom.
