Antonio and Bertha are an elderly couple who get their pension cut off because of the financial crisis in the country. They find themselves in trouble and in need to sell all their belongings and sell street food or steal just to survive. Their lives suddenly change when their kid and grandkid, who have been absent for over ten years, appear.
