The Bomber: Behind Nazi Lines

War breaks out as a young pilot Andrey Grivtsov falls for a charming girl Katya. On the eve of his hundredth flight Andrey only worries if he'll be able to find his loved one. We can only imagine his astonishment when Katya turns out to be the radio operator he is to put on the ground. However, due to a thunderstorm the plane makes a forced landing. Everyone who survived plots their own path.

After their plane crashes, pilot Grivtsov, his girlfriend Katya and navigator Linko look for ways to survive. Navigator Linko is captured by the Germans and decides he'll have to become a traitor to save his life. Katya and Andrey manage to hide, but the Germans notice the signals of Katya's radio station. Now their only way to salvation is constant flight.

Linko and Andrey have both been captured meet in a German prison camp. Andrey begins to cooperate with the Germans, and the two become enemies. Andrey's main task is to become bait and to destroy a Russian guerrilla unit. Katya has reached that unit and carries out the first communication sessions.

Katya gets used to the life in guerrilla camp, but even among her own people her safety is always threatened. Having found himself under pressure to cooperate with the Nazis, Andrey keeps fighting for his life and pondering an escape plan. One of the guerrillas secretly takes Katya to local village girls who do laundry for the Germans. Katya learns that Andrey is dead. Her heart says otherwise.

The staged flight of traitors from the German camp may ruin the guerrilla camp. But danger awaits the main characters not only on a battlefield but also in their personal relationships.

Germans are preparing a major military operation, but a landing party is sent to help the guerrillas. Who will the guerrillas meet first: the traitors allegedly escaping the German concentration camps or the reinforcements? 

Elizaveta tells Katya about her relationship with Andrey. Believing her words, Katya is ready to give up the man she loves but not the fight for the Motherland. The decisive actions of the radio operator may save the day.

Katya meets navigator Linko who tells her about Andrey's death. To everyone's surprise, Andrey comes back to his air unit, but because he had been in the area occupied by the enemy he is branded a traitor.
