Andrew Manson, a former miner who became a physician with great sacrifices, arrives in Aberalaw for his first assignment as an assistant to a doctor who turns out to be sick and unable to exercise. There he meets Cristina Barlow, a teacher with a mysterious background, determined to keep love away from her life.
