In medieval Paris, the beautiful Esmeralda captivates all who see her. Among her admirers are poet Gringoire, captain Phoebus, and sinister alchemist Frollo, who is willing to kill for her. Falsely accused and sentenced, Esmeralda is rescued by Quasimodo, the deformed bell ringer of Notre-Dame. Bound by his love, he protects her until they are tragically united in death.
