The Jungle Book

Mowgli discovers that a young monkey named Moky thinks he is absolutely wonderful, brave and courageous. In fact, Moky Mowgli's Number One Fan. The hero worship is fine until Mowgli wants to continue on a construction he is making for Boo and Oo, the turtles, and sends Moky back to be with his parents. Moky wanders around the jungle, only to walk straight into Shere Khan.

Baloo and Bagheera sense that Kala, a rogue black panther, is back in the jungle and looking for Mowgli. The two animals try to keep this news from Mowgli, but he overhears them and goes off in a huff at being treated like a small child, collecting Bala along the way. Mowgli and Bala have a run-in with Tabaqui when the jackal taunts them about Bagheera's bravery.

Mowgli learns to paint and Darzee is so impressed she says that he'll soon be King of the Jungle. Tabaqui hears the gossip and tells Shere Kahn. Kahn threatens Mowgli but when he attacks he actually attacks the self portrait of Mowgli on the rock, loses his balance, humiliates himself and slopes off back to his lair.

Bagheera is missing and a strange panther-like creature is attacking animals in the human village. Only his shadow is seen and Hathi wonders if it's The Black Shadow, a panther who is reputed only to eat humans. Mowgli is frightened when he is chased by a black panther, but it turns out to be his friend, Bagheera.

Darzee wants to be brave and strong like the other big birds, but they don't think she is able to do this. Mowgli, Baloo and Bagheera try to cheer her up and invite her to go along with them. When they get to the river they find that Jakala's son, Guzzleguts, has been kidnapped by the monkeys and they agree to help the crocodile find his son.

There seems to be a strange and frightening monster at large in the jungle. It turns out to be Jakala, who is suffering from a terrible toothache. Mowgli alleviates Jakala's pain by means of some 'adhoc' dentistry. When Shere Kahn goes in search of Mowgli and corners him near the river, it looks as though it's the end for the man-cub.

Once again Phaona is trying to get Mowgli ousted from the wolf pack, this time by saying that Mowgli tried to steal his prey. Phaona pairs up with Tabaqui and they try to ensure that Mowgli never comes out of Mist Valley alive, but their plan goes wrong when Tabaqui gets covered in biting black maggots and is discovered.

Shere Kahn has kidnapped Mani from the Cold Lair. He will return the youngster once his parents have stolen Mowgli's pendant. When Mowgli goes to reclaim his stolen pendant from the Bandar Log, Shere Kahn will be waiting for him.

Mowgli is distressed when trees in the jungle are found covered in a lime green mould. Realising that their jungle could be wiped out if the mould spreads. Bagheera and Mowgli volunteer to go to the man village and get cedar oil, the only thing they know that will destroy the mould. The animals come together and smear oil all over the infested trees.

A baby monkey is missing and the Bandar Log think that Kaa has eaten it. Mowgli,Baloo and Bagheera aren't too sure that he has,and they go off to hunt for the missing monkey leaving Baloo and Darzee to guard Kaa. Mowgli and Bagheera find the monkey hanging tangled from some vines, and underneath is Shere Kahn, just waiting for the monkey to drop down.

Baloo gets hit on the head by a coconut and becomes convinced that he the King of the Jungle. Soon Baloo's delusions of grandeur start to get him into serious trouble so Mowgli plans to shock him back to reality by saying that Shere Khan has challenged him to battle. The plan backfires when Shere Khan issues a real challenge, which Baloo accepts.

It's hard work hunting and Tabaqui is fed up. He hatches a plan to steal meat from Bagheera's meat store and hide it in the Cold Lairs. To keep the monkeys away he howls terribly and frightens them rigid. They are convinced there is a monster in the Cold Lair. Mowgli, Baloo and Bagheera figure out who the culprit is and track Tabaqui down, warning him that he must never steal their meat again.

Mowgli is jealous of Baloo's attention to Ponya. Tabaqui plays on this weakness not only to trap Mowgli but to lure Ponya into the Cold Lair, thereby delivering two meals to Shere Kahn. Baloo and Bagheera are worried about the missing pair, but even they are fooled when Tabaqui tells them he's seen Mowgli and Ponya on their way to the waterfalls.
