It’s been six weeks since Bill’s back surgery. Bill’s feeling much better but still in pain so Jen and Bill head to New York for a check-up with the back surgeon. Later, the family takes a field trip to NASA/Johnson Space Center.

As the holiday season comes around, Bill and Jen get in the Christmas spirit with the kids.

Jen and Bill think it’s time for 4-year old Will and 3-year old Zoey to try some extra-curricular activities. They’ve decided on karate lessons for Will and ballet for Zoey. Also, Bill enlists the kids to help with a special project at home.

Will is turning five, so Jen decides it's time to redecorate his bedroom. She also steps aside to let Bill plan the birthday party. Jen’s only task is to send out invitations, but when she sends out the wrong address she wonders if anyone will arrive.

Jen, Bill, Will and Zoey are in New York City for a few days. Both Jen and Bill have appointments with Dr. James Farmer, the orthopedic surgeon who operated on Bill's spine. And they have a meeting with the publishers of their new book
