The Master Butcher

Both Fidelis, a butcher just back from the war, and young circus performer Delphine, dream of new beginnings and decide to emigrate to America.

Everything seems fine when Fidelis manages to open his own shop and gets his new family to come to Argus, but hard times are just around the corner.

Fidelis founds a singing club to help fellow local emigres fight homesickness. However, happiness doesn’t last long when Eva suddenly falls ill.

Fidelis and Delphine, overwhelmed with grief, finally manage to carry on after Eva’s tragic death. Yet fate deals one final, dramatic twist.
