The Nine

As nine strangers go about their business at Fidelity Republic Bank in Los Angeles, two men suddenly announce a bank robbery — but it becomes clear that the heist has gone terribly wrong. After 52 hours, a SWAT team rescues the hostages and captures the thieves. The nine survivors are now bonded together as they try to resume their lives and grapple with how this event has changed them forever.

After the traumatic bank robbery, the nine hostages try to pick up the pieces of their suddenly disturbed lives. Meanwhile, Nick's job with the police is in danger, Egan is a media superstar and Jeremy takes matters into his own hands.

Kathryn goes back to work in court. Although she is still on top of her game, she can't disconnect from the events of the robbery. Meanwhile, Felicia tries to regain her memory of what happened inside the bank, and Jeremy is in emotional disarray over something he did at the hospital.

Lizzie leads the crusade to face one of the two robbers, Randall (recurring guest star JEFFREY PIERCE), in court, over Nick's strenuous objections. Meanwhile, Egan invites Jeremy to a friend's bachelor party. And when Franny receives harassing telephone calls from the imprisoned father of Eva's son, Nick advises her to talk to Kathryn.

Nick and Kathryn uncover a startling revelation about the bank robbery that involves Eva. Franny learns that Lizzie is pregnant with Jeremy's child. And Malcolm deals with his conflicting responsibilities to the bank and to a dead friend's widow.

When Egan plans a poker party, Kathryn sees a new side of Nick and makes a decision about her future. Lizzie reveals a connection with Lucas that formed during the bank robbery. And Jeremy and Franny take their relationship a step further.

Jeremy and Lizzie confront their secret from inside the bank. Franny finds something mysterious that Eva left behind. And Nick's ex-wife, Juliana (SASHA ALEXANDER), appears — bringing trouble with her. JoBETH WILLIAMS guest stars as Jeremy's mother, Sheryl.

Eight of the nine are brought to the district attorney's office to relive the security guard's murder. The mayor offers Kathryn an endorsement for district attorney. And Lizzie becomes aware of Jeremy and Franny's relationship.

Jeremy and Egan ask Nick for help when Lizzie suddenly disappears. A note suggesting that the nine are being watched is found. And Franny and Jeremy's relationship is exposed to the group.

After Egan makes a surprising statement on national television, the lives of the nine are thrown into turmoil. Kathryn must now consider the political implications of her continued association with the others, and Nick tries to uses knowledge that only he possesses to satisfy a nagging suspicion. Meanwhile, Lizzie copes with the realization that Jeremy and Franny have been dating.

While Malcolm struggles with whether or not he deserves an award for his many years of civic service, his hapless brother visits unexpectedly. Lizzie remains troubled by romantic dreams of Lucas. Kathryn works on focusing her campaign message. And Felicia digs deeper into her memories of the bank incident.

Nick asks Malcolm for guidance in coping with an old promise of revenge for his father's death. Egan proves to be a valuable asset in Kathryn's campaign. Franny's planned reunion of her grandmother and estranged mother goes awry. And Felicia confronts Malcolm about something she remembers from the robbery.

Kathryn is drawn dangerously close to Nick. Burdened by his sins, Jeremy makes a shocking confession. And Lizzie faces a crisis of conscience regarding Lucas.
