Professor Oglevee must come to terms with his therapist's assertion that he is in love with Nikki; and Kim is left to care for Michael's infant child after the oil-rig fire.

On the rebound, Kim joins Stevie in trying a speed-dating service while Nikki catches Prof. Oglevee with a married woman whose husband is a paroled convict.

Nikki got pregnant with Kim and dropped out of school but now, just as Kim is getting ready for college, Nikki decides it's her turn to finish getting her education.

After a friend wins the lottery, Nikki takes over her manager's job at a movie theater owned by Magic Johnson (who plays himself).

Prof. Oglevee suffers a career setback and Kim woos an overweight tutor in the third-season finale.
