Alan and his younger brother Dennis share a passion for soccer, both play for their local team and share the dream of one day joining the premier league. A soccer coach for KRC Genk is scouting for new players. Soon Dennis’ dream is a reality, but what about Alan? Their relationship and lives are about to change forever.

Dennis’ contract is a time for celebration, but his mother, Frieda, has some concerns and suggests hiring Dennis a manager. Dennis’ father, Leo thinks employing a manager is a waste of time and money and decides that there is no one better for the job but him which soon leads to tension at home. Alan, reluctantly must face the real world and start looking for a job – easier said than done.

The pressure is on for KRC Genk to win their next game, but with only 10 minutes to go until the end of the match the odds are not in their favour. Coach Deboosere decides to shake things up and remove Roel from the pitch and let Dennis play instead. The results don’t go without consequences. Alan must deal with some bad new and is left embarrassed after getting to know Nina, a physical therapist.

Spechtmans is appointed the new KRC coach and wastes no time making it clear to the team that he is in charge. While team experience a tough training regime, tensions increase between Dennis and Roel when they are forced to bunk together. Guy hatches a money-making plan and Alan is thrilled when Leo arranges for him to meet with the president of a second division league club.

Spechtmans’ training is paying off: the team are performing at their best and press is positive. For the first time in a long time the players are all getting along, even Roel and Dennis who are bonding – much to Alan’s frustration. Roel’s ex, Jasmine and his son pay him a surprise visit – Jasmine delivers some bad news. Alan is once again left devastated when he hears back from club Genk VV.

Dennis’ performance on the pitch goes from strength to strength and he is offered a new contract. Leo has a counter offer in mind which is accepted, but later feels cheated when he makes a discovery. Dennis is nominated as Young Talent of the Year and is excited by the glamour and decadence that professional football offers. Meanwhile Alan is doing less well and starts to evaluate his life.

Dennis can’t believe Miss Belgium, Caro Van Winckel, gave him her number at the Golden Shoe ceremony. Roel explains to Dennis what life is like off the field and encourages him to start acting like a premier league player, which includes having his choice of women. Dennis buys a new car, and not last year’s model…Frieda isn’t pleased. The cracks in Alan and Dennis’ relationship deepen.

Manu, the owner of nightclub Versuz hire Alan and Guy to take care of some of his shady business deals – they are easy prey, in desperate need of money, but things soon turn bad. The pressure is on for KRC Genk to move up the league board and no one is feeling the pressure more than Dennis as he begins to lose his grip on reality.

During a match Dennis receives a red card and finds himself suspended from playing for four weeks. If that wasn’t bad enough, Spechtmans places Dennis on the reserve team, a decision Dennis is not happy about. To try and get over his upset, Dennis gets lost in partying and drinking. Alan is feeling more and more attracted to Nina, but he is afraid to show it.

It is the final match of the season, who will take the champions cup; KRC Genk or Anderlecht? While Dennis sits on the bench, there is pressure on Spechtmans to let the striker play. Spechtmans feels differently and seems intent on teaching Dennis a lesson. Life seems to take a positive turn for Alan, that is until he the law catches up with him.
