Trash vs Treasure

Mrs. Holbert is a great-grandmother and a celebrated foster parent. She shares her beloved home of 50 years with up to nine people at any given time, including three adopted grandchildren. She struggles to keep three generations of her family together. Mrs. Holbert needs help uncluttering two bedrooms and reimagining her sleeping space so that it inspires peace and is ALL hers!

Angel is a single Latina mother of five children who was raised in an African-American environment, in part by her Black step-father. She is in recovery and is a domestic abuse survivor. Angel lives in a one-room apartment and works six days a week to create an atmosphere of love and comfort. She is looking for creative ways to maximize her space to accommodate her family.

Keisha lives in a two room house built decades ago with no running water. She inherited the house from her recently deceased mother. Both rooms are bedrooms and a mud room has been turned in to a cooking space. Keisha is seeking any improvement for her home to enhance her children’s well-being.
