J.P. is a young law student actor who is invited to work at the district attorney's office. By accepting the job, he agrees that he will do what he is asked to grow within the institution without realizing the trap he is falling into.

J.P is increasingly involved in the traps of power and his fame is growing, up but he meets a woman and falls in love with her. This leads him to want to get out of all this but it is not easy and he is about to lose everything.

John Fransua is hurt and is not willing for J.P. to leave the team and decides to have him followed. He recruits J.P's fiancée to spy on him, betraying love and trust.

J.P's popularity is growing as a candidate for congress. John can't let that happen and they ask him for one last favor which uncovers the chain of corrupt movements of the law firm linked to the District Attorney's office. John orders an unexpected end for J.P.

A Guatemalan lawyer (Rodrigo Rosenberg) arranges his own death to avenge the assassination of his client (Khalil Musa) and his daughter (Marjorie Musa, also Rosenberg's girlfriend) by President Álvaro Colom and his wife. In the process, Rosenberg hopes to incriminate them for all three killings. The innocent facilitators flee to avoid being accused.

A prerecorded video from the victim of the assassination (Rodrigo Rosenberg) blames the Guatemalan President for his death. The CICIG (Comisión Internacional contra la Impunidad en Guatemala or International Commission against Impunity in Guatemala) is asked to investigate and find someone else to blame for Rosenberg's death, even though it's not within it's jurisdiction.

Falsely accused of Rodrigo Rosenberg's death, the Valdés Paiz brothers (owners of a Guatemalan pharmacy chain) are on the run from the authorities, but eventually change their mind after learning that their family and trusted associates are being hassled.
