Unwanted

On the first night of the cruise ship Orizzonte's voyage through the Mediterranean, the crew rescues a group of migrants from a fishing boat that is on fire and in danger of sinking.

As Arrigo battles with a difficult moral choice after being ordered to disembark the migrants, a meeting gets organised between the rescued survivors and the cruise ship's passengers.

The Orizzonte docks in Tunis, but local authorities refuse to accept the refugees, who instead get the chance to freely move around the ship while the passengers explore the Tunisian capital.

Edith starts to spread the news that the migrants on board the Orizzonte will be handed over to the Libyans, Ibrahim discovers all about Tareq's past life, and the crew tries to find an NGO.

A determined Tareq takes the cruise ship hostage and makes demands for it to be returned to Italy, while Captain Arrigo has a panic attack and Edith formally takes over command.

Ship security must face up to a dilemma when military forces surround the cruise ship and try to negotiate a compromise with the hijackers, and Dilleta discovers that she is pregnant.

When news of the hijacking goes public, it becomes clear to those onboard that there will be no compromise; as tension mounts, Tareq and the others must surrender, but panic ensues when a gunshot is heard.

As the cruise ship docks in Lampedusa, the passengers and migrants disembark, leaving the captain and a hijacker onboard to wait for the arrival of the police.
