Veeram is inspired by the ballads of North Malabar and Vadakkan Pattukal, narrating the tale of Chandu Chekaver, a 13th-century Kalarippayattu warrior. Driven by ambition, he vows to gain power at any cost. Drawing parallels to Shakespeare's Macbeth, the film explores Chandu's rise and fall as a brave yet infamous figure in the political and martial landscapes of North Malabar.
