Based on Pier Paolo Pasolini's novel, it tells the story of Tommaso, a kid raised in the outskirts of Rome who is used to stealing in order to survive. One day, he stabs a man and is sent to prison. After getting out and falling ill with TB, he starts reflecting on his way of life and tries to change for the better, deciding to participate in political activities and proposing to his girlfriend.
