Fraser moves to an American military base in Italy, and is drawn towards a mysterious girl his age.

Caitlin is talking to her boyfriend Sam about her problems when she gets her first period, throwing her into considerable turmoil. When she gets home, she discusses it with her father. We find out that Caitlin noticed Fraser in the bar where she flirted with the Italian girl. In the days that follow, she avoids him. But Fraser lets her know he is on her side by sending her a gift.

Fraser and Caitlin become friends and bond over the confusion of their emerging identities.

Fraser, Caitlin, and their friends organize Craig’s wedding before he is shipped off.

Nervous about her date with Giulia, Caitlin asks Fraser to help her pass as male.

Craig's father and Caitlin come to heads after a devastating accident. Caitlin is drawn back again to her ex, Craig’s brother, Sam. Craig’s friends go for a drink in his honor in the villa where they held the wedding party. Sarah finds out about her mother’s relationship with Caitlin’s mother.

Before she can leave, Fraser asks Caitling to a concert in Bologna, to unexpected consequences.
